I received my Chasecam racer kit yesterday and have been doing some testing today. So far so good, and the images look nice and clear after burning to DVD. The only issue so far is the video doesn't display to the edges of my TV screen. The PDR is set on full screen and at highest quality. Video displays correctly in my editing program. After burning to DVD, there's a 1-2" black bar all around the video. Not sure if this is a DVD burning problem or Chasecam issue. Any ideas?
EDIT- Spent some time on this. I was rendering my edited video to an mpeg file, then burning to DVD with Nero. A setting was wrong in Nero, causing the black bars (letterboxing) around the video. Going from my editing program directly to DVD resulted in full screen video. Perfect!
Quality seems great on the Chasecam system. Everything seems well made, and the PDR is a snap to work with. I like the design of the menu screen, and navigation is easy. There's everything you need in the kit, including cords and adapters, and the 5" TV looks good so far. I'll get it installed in my baja bug this week for more testing. Customer service (Can't remember the woman's name) is awesome. 30 day money back guarantee made it a done deal for me. I'll be posting back later.
