PDR flash update fails - checksum error

Just trying to update my PDR 1000 - I've downloaded the latest file, copied it to a CF card, put it in the PDR, powered the box on with the menu button held down - I get the updater message but then I get

Update Failed - checksum error.

My updater is v.0.06

the update on the PDR is 1.00.10 dated 2007/02/06

Any ideas ? I'm off snowboarding today and wanted to update the PDR for some more helmet cam footage.

Try downloading the .bin file again. Normally you get that error code when there is something wrong with the update file. Make sure you put the .bin file in the root directory of the CF card.

ok - I've tried everything I can think of but still no joy.

I've tried different CF cards, downloading on different computers, tried downloading it on four different internet connections (in case there was an issue with my ISP) etc etc but each time the result is the same - Update Failed - checksum error.

I'd be pulling my hair out (if I had any !!!)

Any ideas ??

I asked our tech folks and they've not seen an issue like this before. If you'd like to send it in we'd be more than happy to have a look. Please download the RMA form from the Support section of the site and include it in the package. Your RMA# is 1606.

I couldn't start a new thread so I'll try a post here.

I'm getting this error message on my PDR.

alternating between "Compact Flash Wait" and "Compact Flash No Info".


Any ideas?

Try another CF card if you have one. If it's still happening the unit probably needs to come to us for a closer look. If you want to send it back, email sales (at) chasecam.com for an RMA#.
