Hi,
I have been trying to add gauges showing Oil Pressure, Trans temp, etc . . . . that I have exported into the CSV from my DL1 file (that were output from analog). When I select the gauges and try to edit the data type these options are not available. I have tried using a csv with and without export headers without success. Am I missing something, or is this not possible with the software?
Thanks so much, the product and your cameras have served us well over the years,

John,
No problem. In the gauge designer and into the gauge input list ( Gauge/red + ) you have a choice call "other". That's what you need. Name it T water, P oil, or what you want. It will be add to the project gauge of the project frame. Open the "edit gauge input assignments" it is here. Assign your datas to your owne input gauge and your needles are going to work.
If the datas come from a .csv file, this soft work with absolutly anything. You creat your owne "channels".
If you want a more thorough explanation, bring up the "Input name" dialog by clicking on the [+] button in the frame "Gauge" of the Gauge designer, then press F1 for context-sensitive help.
Hope it's help you

Awesome! That was the tipping point that will probably have me purchasing this software, thanks.
I would imagine users (myself obviously included) would first look for this function in the gauge toolbox, or gauge edit popups, not in the project tab. Unless maybe I'm the excpetion. Although now I see I can make that part of the project structure, so . . . . . I'm kind of torn.
Thanks again,
JMB
Michel, thanks for helping John out!
John, in general we seem to getting a lot of questions to do with data inputs and mapping. You can display just about anything with DashWare once you have it figured out, but we need to make it easier.
There is always a balancing act between the power and flexibility of the software and its ease of use. We want to improve our data logger UI in a future release to make things more obvious, and to help you setup your own data mappings that you can use in project after project, gauge after gauge.
Thanks,
Rolf
