Hoping for a little help with my PDR100.

I formatted a CF card, copied the update.bin from the site to it, placed it in my ChaseCam, and held the menu while powering it on. It says to release the Menu button then immediately says "Update FAILED: Missing UPDATE.BIN". I put the CF into my laptop to confirm that the file is indeed on the CF card.

The Flash updater version is v0.09. The card is a SanDisk Ultra II 4GB card.

BTW, I was trying to apply the firmware upgrade because my PDR says "Compact Flash No Info" and will not record.
Any clues?

Thanks,

Chris,

First, want to confirm you're formatting the card to FAT32.

More likely, though, is that you have a bent pin or a bad card, or something similar. It's sensing the card but not able to transfer data. Look into the card slot with a flashlight and make sure all the pins are there and straight. If they're fine, try another card if you have one.

We'll be happy to take a look at it but, as always, we try and help you diagnose the problem in the field first to save everyone time.

Thanks.

Yep. Compact Flash No Info means that the unit sees a CF Card in there, but some communication with the card is not working. Typically this can happen from a bent CF Card socket pin, or in some cases, a failed solder joint on the socket to the circuit board.

Either case is relatively easy for us to fix here at the factory.

If it was me, I would (just to be sure) try to use a different card and see if it still fails.
