This past weekend I was installing Chase Cams in a few cars for a race series, and received a message on one of the PDR 100s that a video breaker tripped. This happened right as I was hitting record before they went out for qualifying, and needless to say, I did not get that footage.

When I was plugging one of the cameras into the recorder, one of the pins got bent. I tried to straighten the pin out and ended up breaking it off. I then replaced that camera with another camera and plugged it into the recorder (the recorder was off). It seemed to power on and off just fine. When I came back a little while later to turn it on to record the race, it gave me the message that the Video Breaker tripped.

This was running off batteries, so I know it didn't have anything to do with the car wiring. Does anyone know what could have caused this and how I can fix it? The camera I plugged in the second time was a Chase Cam as well.

Help!

JDancer,

The "Video Breaker Tripped" error message can be avoided by simply plugging the camera into the PDR before powering the PDR on. Not sure why you got the error the second time.

For the camera with the broken pin, you can send it back to us for repair. Grab our RMA form here: http://www.chasecam.com/rma and use RMA #1644.

Let me know if you get that error message again when plugging the camera in before power up.

Kelly
