Here is a nice piece of software I found, currently for nokia S60 phones only (more a being added). Best part its FREE

http://www.racechrono.com/

You need a 5Hz bluetooth GPS, (just google shop for 5Hz bluetooth GPS, here is a store those guys recommend: http://www.semsons.com/)

You can also get a Bluetooth OBD-II reader from here:
http://www.obdkey.com/

There you have it as cheap as you can go for data acquisition system.

P.S. if you just want to sync your video with your GPS data then you can actually get standalone GPS data logger that will log at 5Hz. If you want to go that route check out:

I ordered the OBDII reader so I will and post it up (assuming I'll get some $$$ to spend on dashware.) Sometime this week.

P.S. just found out that Triumph Daytona 675 has an OBD II port.

No way! I didn't think any bikes had one. That is awesome, and I am jealous :)

Don't be I don't have that bike.... ....yet! My friends do though so if OBD II work's I might have to switch bikes.

Heya All,

I was just doing a bit of vanity googling for my own project that logs OBD and GPS data, and came across this page. I've been working on an OBD GPS logging tool that runs on laptops for the last month or so. It's completely free, and open-source [for anyone who actually wants to see how these things work, or modify it for their own purposes].

The things that set it apart:
It works on Linux and OSX [unlike almost all other OBD tools]
It logs the data [unlike almost all other OBD tools]
It then exports it to various formats including google earth [unlike almost all other OBD tools]

You can see it here: http://icculus.org/obdgpslogger/.

Have fun,
