got everything looking pretty good, went to render video then...
dash seemed to lag a little, i said whatevs and went on to browsing. i figured i'd let it ride until i saw the cpu time go idle. then i got an error; trying to creating standard high quality video.
error creating video: no combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection.
at ultraguage.rendervideo.buildmainconceptgraph(proje ct project, videoprofile videoprofile, string destvideofilename, double starttime, double endtime) at ultragauge.ultragauge.window.v(String })
the last wasn't really a } but it was some goofy character next to a parenthesis, i couldn't really tell what it was.
on v1.04

Hi Sickmint79,
Were you creating a Standard Def High quality mp4? What was your source video type? There is a tool called DirectShow Filter Manager available for free at: http://www.softella.com/dsfm/index.en.htm. If you could download and run it. After running you will see a list of codecs. Scroll down to the MainConcept codecs - are there any mainconcept codecs who's module is not the DashWare install directory?
Thanks,
Mark

yes, standard def hq mp4. source video was from pdr. i think it abruptly ended when batteries ran out during karting, but video is viewable and usable just fine in dashware and other things.
all mainconcept codecs poing to dashware codecs directory.

Hi,
The ChaseCam Data folder is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ChaseCam\Dashware in XP and C:\ProgramData\ChaseCam\Dashware in Vista. In the data folder is another folder called Settings, which contains Settings.xml. Can you change the DebugWriteGraphFiles to True in the Settings.xml? And then can you try and write out the video? This will generate some .grf files in the directory that you chose for the video export. Can you send me these .grf files, and the DashWareLog.txt file (found in the Chase Cam data folder) to mark@chasecam?
Thanks,
Mark

So the xvid format is not compatible with the Mainconcept decoder. However, you should still be able to use another non mainconcept codec to decode the xvid, and then DashWare should be able to encode it to mp4. However this is not working, and I am in the process of working with MainConcept (the company whose codecs we use) to try and figure what is going on. What codecs do you have installed for decoding xvid?

ah, i forgot that it was xvid. my camera moved about 90 degrees so i moved it 90 degrees back for my video.
using that directshow filter manager program you linked, i have an Xvid MPEG-4 Video Decoder. i believe it is from xvid.org.

I duplicated the problem with divx, and I am narrowing in on how to fix it. Once I fix it, I can give you a pre release version to try it out, and the fix will be in the next release. It's not one of our officially supported formats (avi xvid), but I would like to try and make it work.

It's a weird problem with xvid codecs - I thought that since I can dupliate it so easy, I would fix it right away. I can duplicate the problem, but I have not identified a fix yet that does not cause problems with other codecs. I am still working on it, and I will keep you posted.

Windows XP Pro SP3 (or 2) with 1.0.4 WORKS!

Ok I found a solution for this:
Install the Klite Codec pack from:
http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
Standard should work fine, then get the UPDATE for it.
Worked like a charm on my Vista machine.

OK, so I believe I fixed the problem last night. We will try and have a build available by tomorrow morning, and I would like some people to give it a try. Sickmint, I am figuring you are willing to give it a try. Is anyone else having problems with divx or xvid encoded videos that would like to give this version a try?

I'm also having the same problem with my xvid videos as well.
I would like to try the beta version that fixes this issue.

The beta fixes the issue, but if I try to use any of the other H.264 profiles (ie iphone) it freezes up like it did before. Did the changes not get propagated to the other video profiles?
Also, my xvid codec just updated itself and now when I open a project dashware says: invalid codec.
The newest version is: DivX 6.9.1.

Hi Rob,
It is strange that the changes did not work for the other profiles. I will have to contact the Codec company (MainConcept), who I believe ironically are owned by DivX. They also have released new versions of their codecs, so we will probably be upgrading DashWare soon to the new codec versions. I will contact MainConcept about the compatibility with DivX, and will look into it locally.

Mark, with the latest version of dashware this problem no longer exists and I'm able to create and transfer my track videos to my iphone. Sweet!
