I have run a PDR100 for the last 4 years on a FJR1300 with much success...I have sold bike and bought a Hayabusa 1300... I can not seam to record on the PDR anymore with out massive interference..
I have put a 12 volt filter in line and is not working for @#*&...
I have the PDR powered directly to bike battery as before...When i remove 12 volt from bike battery and run PDR on 4 AAA batteries it works 100 times better but not like i use to have it.. There still is a little interference.. Called bike dealer and they have no idea..It has resitor plugs and electronic IGN. Anyone got any ideas...

Jeff,

Since you had success with the equipment on another bike, chances are this bike is emitting a lot more EMI than the last one. I know you don't have a lot of space to work with, but sometimes routing wires differently, or putting additional metal shielding (metal tape) over them will help. Feel free to give us a call direct and we can discuss more of the details.

Thanks.

Again, proper RF isolation, odd multiples in wave length at operating frequency, antenna to PDR100, type #43 ferrite rf chokes and good RF ground braid should help. Also, if I were trying to run a VHF or UHF radio on a bike, I would use a base loaded 1/2 wave no ground plane antenna instead of a 1/4wl or 5/8wl antenna. The clip on ferrite #43 material cane be found on the web athttp://www.radioworks.com/
