Obviously, I'm a video newbie. I'm trying to figure out how to edit my video and be able to post it to websites like YouTube or Facebook.

The only programs I have been able to open the video files with are the InterVideo WinDVD program that came on my Thinkpad and a free Editor I downloaded called Avidemux. I can't open it with Windows Movie Maker and I can't open it with iMovie on my wife's Mac. And with Avidemux, I can't hear the audio.

BTW, what is the video format? MPEG 2?

Any help/suggestions welcome. TIA

Will,

The video is MPEG2. VLC will play it. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

To edit or post to youtube, download/buy a codec for MPEG2. This will allow you to play it on Windows Media Player and let you use Windows Movie Maker to do simple edit/clip/change format.

Hope this helps!

I use ulead video studio.

There's a 30 day trial, and the full version is around $70.

Does everything on my ThinPad T61 & T400.

PM Me if you need help.
