I installed a pdr/ss1000 unit with dual cam inside a truck (like NASCAR Craftman) for a customer. It was set for standard quality (default).
The video image is very clear... except when the racetrack lights come into the picture. Then I have "stars" all over (ligth effect).
A seperate pdr/ss1000 unit installed inside a stock car (yeah like NASCAR) does not have this problem. The image does do a little star but only in the immediate peripheral area of the lights. In the first case it takes up to 80% of the screen.
Obviously the races were filmed at night, on pavement.
The diff in setup : truck the camera was within 12 inches of the windshield (almost no inside components in view; black dash and yellow hood) vs the stock car had the camera some 24 inches from the windshield (black sun visor and some dash in view, black, and orange hood).
Any clues?
The truck system is brand new never used before.

p.s. I was thinking it was a bad / poor quality windshield with scratching causing the effect. But its very very bad.
