I have yet to get a decent sound from my PDR100 in my ex F1 car. The PDR nestles beside my hip and I have yet to get a sound other than a high volume hum depite the audio adjusteed to its lowest setting. A mike makes no difference either. Is there some way I can get decent sound recording...please help before I change out the system.

Hi Roy,

Have you tried our new PDR firmware that extends the low range down further?

I would also double check your mounting of the unit to ensure that it isn't vibrating against something and causing the noise. If neither of those work, we'd be happy to take a look at the unit and see if there's anything wrong. If you choose to send it back for inspection please call/email us first for an RMA number.

I have removed your identical post in the other forum.

Thanks.

I have downloaded the software and will give it another go next weekend. I have also purchased a sony ecm ds70p mike recommended in the forum which I shall also experiment with and revert. Thanks

Downloaded and installed the latest firmware and ran the unit in the car this weekend using the internal mic. Also tried relocating the PDR to a vibration free / wind free area (under my thigh support) but very little improvement in sound..very, very disappointing. Can I send you a clip for your review and possible diagnosis?

Roy,

Of course. Send us a clip. Give me a call and we can work out delivery method. 619-337-2300.

Did the external mic work? If so, that might help us narrow down the issue. Given the success others have had on all types of cars (F1 to street cars), it's possible there's an issue with the sound on your unit that we need to repair.

Thanks.
