I have a pair of PDR100's, both w/ supercaps and the auto-on switch, and one with G-Force. The Auto-record sticky post here says that G-Force is required for auto-record.

1) If I want the units to always record (not triggered by G-Force), both units can do that if the switch is set to auto-on and the menu options are set up properly, correct?

2) I want the units to start recording when power is applied. I have CF cards that are large enough to hold the whole day's time. Does this mean I should set loop and recycle both off?

3) I assume a new file is started each time the power is switched on?

4) Will I get a single file for each power-on period? I see mention of file sizes related to recycle, and I know that some systems have limitations on file size.

5) With supercaps I should always set the Auto Shut Down to off, correct?

1) If I want the units to always record (not triggered by G-Force), both units can do that if the switch is set to auto-on and the menu options are set up properly, correct?

Yes.

2) I want the units to start recording when power is applied. I have CF cards that are large enough to hold the whole day's time. Does this mean I should set loop and recycle both off?

Yes.

3) I assume a new file is started each time the power is switched on?

Each time the recording is stopped/started a new file is created.

4) Will I get a single file for each power-on period? I see mention of file sizes related to recycle, and I know that some systems have limitations on file size.

File size is limited to 4GB. At Normal quality you get approx 30 min/GB, and at Highest 15 min/GB. So if you are under 2 hrs recording time at Normal quality it should be a single file. If you go longer it will save one 4GB file and then begin recording to a second file.

5) With supercaps I should always set the Auto Shut Down to off, correct?

Yes. Auto Shut Down is only used on non-supercap PDRs.

Thanks!
