From my recent track day. Things I need to work on editing and sound. Way too much wind noise. Here is unit location in car (I think for use it is a good location) may not be good for sound. Then again, I did not know I could adjust mic sensitivity.

15 minutes of raw video (turn computer sound down FF to 12:50 ish for interaction with other cars):

Video looks awesome!
Yeah, sound is an issue. Try adjusting the audio gain first, turn it down. Your voice at the beginning is probably louder than it should be, since ambient noise goes way up once you start really moving.
Wind noise is a possibility, but see if the gain adjustment works first. There's no real reason to have the PDR mounted where it is other than for ease of access. I'd probably put it low behind the driver's seat or somewhere more hidden. If you have a recent PDR you should have the auto-on and auto-record functions that will make it so you never have to touch it. If you'd really like an indicator, a LANC remote is another option.
Thanks.

Thanks for the comments, and as I admitted, not the best location for sound, but ease of access (since I made the bracket to mount it to the harness bar). I also need access to the rear seat. It is not a recent PDR so I am using a LANC remote to start/stop recording. Ideally if I could get a longer cable for the SS to PDR, I could mount the PDR in another location. But right now, it is staying in the current location.
Thanks for the tips.
Cheers
