Hi guys,
Does anyone know if there's an external (remote) CF carriage which can be used with the ChaseCam?
I have several heavy handed customers, and would like to ensure I don't have to replace the internal carriage in the unit!
Last time I was on these forums, I believe Randy was looking into this?
Randy . . . .. ???
Cheers,
Steve

. . . . Anyone???
Two minutes with Google gets:
a page of CF test tools with extenders (http://www.sycard.com/cflash1.html) or a very brief DIY setup (http://homepage.eircom.net/~podge001/CF%20Extender.html).
If you go the DIY setup, sockets are easily obtainable from Digi-Key, but Sparkfun has one mounted on a board for easier assembly, either with all the pins brought out (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=195) or just a few for memory cards (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=493). As the DIY instructions say, just cannibalize an old CF card for the plug.
If you want an ejector, you might want to buy the Sparkfun setup, build an externder, then when it works, replace the stock socket with one with an ejector from Digi-Key.

Yes. I did test a remote cable and it worked fine. I have one here. Contact us if you want to try it out.

FYI, Randy is out of the office this week, so he may not reply until next week on this matter.
Thanks.

Thanks for letting me know . . . . don't suppose YOU can give me this information Randall . . . . getting a bit desperate with this issue now!
I need to find an external CF carriage, Randy sent me an email showing me the Remote CF Carriage, but hasn't come back to me since!
Just need to locate the unit's manufacturer!
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,
Also copying this info in the original thread.
Here's the product I have sitting on my desk:
http://www.sycard.com/cfext180.html
http://store02.prostores.com/servlet...end-180/Detail
I just ran a test video and it appears to work just fine both in the PDR and in my card reader.
I'll email you direct to see if you'd like us to send you this one.
Thanks.
