Just in time for the track this weekend...
Photos attached.
I can never seem to get over how TINY the PDR is - so I included a coke can for scale..

Initial thoughts.
The antenna has a 10' cable on it - too long for me, but better than being too short.
The antenna is magnetic, AND has a 3M sticky pad on it.
There is a bracket that holds the DM10 to the PDR, but I did not get this (yet.)
The DM10 has inputs for Tach + Othat, that asks for a ground lead. Not sure if I need the ground leads or not.
I cannot figure out how to tell the DashWare system that the THROTTLE is connected to the AUX input.
(I'll post again when I get an answer on this.)
This thing needs more inputs.
I'd like to hook up a Brake sensor, and a steering sensor. The more inputs the better.
I had to install the GForce module in the car.
Setting the GForce could be easier - it involved me going through the menus, and pressing GO - when the PDR is mounted in my trunk, this is not very easy to get to...
Overall the new unit is TINY, and easy to hook up.
I'll post test video tomorrow, and track video from the weekend.
Many thanks to the ChaseCam guys for shipping this promptly when I told them I had a track day this weekend.
Nick.

UPDATE.
So, I have almost everything working, it was really easy to set up.
The hardest thing I've had to play with is getting the GForce sensor configured. Basically, the ChaseCam is mounted in my trunk, so I have to press the ZERO button, and then drive my car forwards - but it feels me sit in the seat, and thinks that the downwards movement is forward movement. I'll have to get some help with this one.
The test video has gone well - but not really worth posting.
I miss having more sensors.
I would love to be able to hook up some additional analog sensors - perhaps Randy will have an additional sensor expansion kit in the future (like the ODB2 hookup.)
Still, when I tell the DashWare to load the video file, it automatically detects the data, and offers to use the data, and then extracts it to a CSV file. This makes it really easy to use.
This thing is so easy to use, I think I'm going to configure the ChaseCam to automatically record all the time, so I always have a full record of every driving trip.
I would also love to be able to do some more calculations.
I would like to be able to calculate the total GForce.
I would like to be able to calculate what gear I'm in (I know the speed, and the RPM...)
Overall, this is a great addition to anyone with a ChaseCam.

Nick,
While we do have calculators (under the data profile editor) I'm not sure we can use two inputs yet--we've discussed this and I'm sure we'll add it to a future release.
You can, however, go into the CSV file that's created by the ChaseCam by finding it in your project directory. You can add columns to this file and do the total G-force calculation there in Excel and then save it as the same CSV. This may require adding the new field to your data profile--essentially the same way you added throttle.
Thanks!

OK, finally got my video hosted...
091021CaliSpeedwayRovalSession4.mp4 (http://www.atomguy.com/091021CaliSpeedwayRovalSession4.mp4)
Please RIGHT CLICK and DOWNLOAD if you're having issues.
The ChaseCam performed perfectly.
The only time I had an issue was when I forgot to start it - but I have the LANC cable, so I saw it wasn't running, and started it.
I still have to get the GForce gauge calibrated correctly.
My video contains three "gauges". My main gauge displays the Speed, Tach, etc. I have a track map in the bottom left, and a ChaseCam logo in the top left.
Once I setup the first video, I saved this as a template, and then was able to create the video for each session very easily.
When you first import a video from a DM10 recording it says that there is embedded data, and would you like to use it - it makes it very easy.
Still loving the new toy.

What did you end up doing for the negative (ground?) input for RPM?
I have RPM hooked up on the positive side but am not getting any RPM readings in the captured data.
??? Track day tomorrow and would really like to have RPM working ???

Sorry for the late reply.
I hooked up the negative to the ground of the car.
Basically, I have all my electronics in my "trunk", very close to the battery.
I have a negative connection coming off the battery, into my trunk, and into a connection block.
I hook the negative from all my electronics to this connection block.
So, the negative from my ChaseCam, my tach ground & my throttle ground all connect to this connection block.
You could connect it to the body of your car (assuming good connectivity), but in my case the battery was fine.
I hope that this helps, and that you have a good track day.
Nick.

Can anyone confirm that DashWare comes bundled with the DM10 unit??
"Data Module Kit Includes:
DM10 Data Module
RJ45 connection to PDR
GPS antenna
Mounting hardware
DashWare 1.1 with Analysis"

I would say it's confirmed, as it says so on the DM10 order page.

AWESOME! I just thought ChaseCam would have advertised it more as the data module bundled with the DashWare software for a great value. Thanks Nick.
