What rating AC adaptor will the PDR100 accept? I have a box full of 12v 1A (1000ma) adaptors will these work without causing damage?

The PDR requires a minimum of 500mA. Assuming they're in good condition, they should work. Make sure the pole diameter is correct as well as polarity.
