Any chance that Chasecam takes PDR100's and upgrades them OR will you guys take them in trade for newer equipment ? Cost? or trade-in value on a relatively new PDR100 ? If not, will the PDR100 work with the DM10 ?

I think there's some confusion here. The DM10 was built to work with the PDR100.

If you're talking about the PDR200/DIVA, yes, if you buy a DM10 now it will work with a PDR200, but will require an adapter cable. The DIVA will essentially be the two of them combined.

We will offer an upgrade path of some sort for PDR100 owners if they want to upgrade to a PDR200/DIVA. However, we don't know what that will be, and I would expect you would be able to get more for your PDR100 on the open/used market than we would be able to give you on trade in.

Much of your existing equipment including camera, mounts, and power cable will be useable with the PDR200/DIVA, so you will essentially maintain full value of those pieces.

Thanks.

Following up on this one a year later...

I have a PDR100 and SS1000 with 2 cameras. Last fall I was thinking of getting a DM10 and the USB cable so that I could capture data and use Dashware to make my video clips more awesome. :) I spoke to one vendor who suggested I could/should upgrade to the DIVA. Of course, I put off investigating my options, and now it's time for the open track/auto-x season to kick off again and I haven't done anything!

A few questions, in no particular order:

(1) Using the DM10 and OBD2 cable, what sort of data rate would I see on the PDR100? 20-25min sessions were typically about 1GB, as I recall, so how much bigger would the files be with the data piggybacked onto the video?

(2) Does the DIVA use the same memory cards as the PDR100?

(3) Will the DIVA HD record in SD using my existing cameras? Or would I need to upgrade the cameras now if I chose to go with the DIVA HD?

(4) One of the options on the DIVA page is a dual camera adapter - I assume that's something different than the SS1000? So if I get the DIVA I ditch the SS1000 and get the dual camera adapter instead?

(4a) Another option is for a "data harness" - what exactly is that for?

(5) I have the dual PDR100/SS1000 mount. What would I need to buy to mount the DM10 if I go that route?

Thanks for your help!

The data does not add any significant size compared to the video.

(2) Does the DIVA use the same memory cards as the PDR100?

No. The DIVA is HC SD cards.

(3) Will the DIVA HD record in SD using my existing cameras? Or would I need to upgrade the cameras now if I chose to go with the DIVA HD?

Different cameras. The HD unit can not be used with SD cameras.

(4) One of the options on the DIVA page is a dual camera adapter - I assume that's something different than the SS1000? So if I get the DIVA I ditch the SS1000 and get the dual camera adapter instead?

The DIVA SD has the ability to record from up to 4 cameras and has the same functionality of the SS1000... just all in one box now.

(4a) Another option is for a "data harness" - what exactly is that for?

If you want to record data from RPM, analog sensor, OBD, etc. Otherwise you will have GPS data (mapping, speed) and GForce data.

(5) I have the dual PDR100/SS1000 mount. What would I need to buy to mount the DM10 if I go that route?

You don't really need anything, simple velcro or cable ties will work.

Thanks, Randy. I went ahead and just ordered the DM10 and OBDII adapter this afternoon. Should have the new bits in time for this weekend's event, can't wait to play with my new toys! :D
