I've found a couple of new feautres in DW v1.1.2

Under "Data Profiles" there is a new MATH CALCULATOR for PYTHAGOREAN functions.

This means that you can input your "Lateral Gs" and "Acceleration Gs" and get your TOTAL Horizontal Gs.

eg. If you're pulling 1.0 Lateral G, and 1.0 Acceleration G, then you're pulling a total of 1.41 G's on car (tires.)

Under "Data Profiles" there is a new CURRENT GEAR CALCULATOR.
You give it your RPM & Speed. You tell it your tire size, gear ratios & final drive.
It then calculates what gear you are in.

Great addition guys!

What new functions has anyone else found?

I found some more features.

Firstly, when you insert a gauge into a project video, it is now easy to resize the gauge on the screen. You could not do this easily before (you had to edit the gauge, and do it in the gauge designer.)

Secondly, if you double-click on a gauge in a project, and modify it, then it modifies it in the project itself. This was always the case.
However there is now a button on the PROJECT tab that will copy the modified gauge into your list of Gauges in the GAUGE TOOLBOX tab.
Great, now I don't have to modify everything in two places.

Great job Chasecam!

I'm having difficulty creating a brand new gear calculator....it's not available as one of the default ones in 1.1.3 so I'm guessing it has to be added as a new calculator before the guages work...and yes sorry I am a new user and just learning this software....I have managed to set up my Throttle position sens with the single voltage sens input but am baffled at how to set up the gear calculator (is it linear interpolated one) with multiple inputs for tire size, gear ratio, and final drive that I'm running and then map it to the gear column...any assistance would be appreciated....thanks, Richard

Hi Richard,

Here are the steps:

1) Open up the Data Profile Editor. Clone the data profile you wish to base your new one off of (you may have already done this).

2) Add a Current Gear Calculator (bottom left area) and fill in the parameters. This will create a new column of data with the name you specified.

3) Add a new Column Mapping (bottom right area) that maps this new column to the Gear data type.

To display the current gear value in a gauge, the gauge should have a Gear input. There should be some kind of component (such as Dynamic Text) that shows the Gauge value.

For more details you can press F1 at any time for context sensitive help.

Let me know if I can help you more.

Thanks,
Rolf
