I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question but there doesn't seem to be much action in the SS1000 section.

Is it possible to switch the main video with the PIP in post production editing? Along the same line, is it possible to remove the PIP for a section then add it back in?

Is this something Dashware can do or must it be done by a vedio editing software such as Final Cut?

Thank you,
Doug

Doug,

The way the SS1000 works is it creates a single video file with the PIP setup however you choose. The images cannot be decoupled in post process. You could crop and increase the size of the PIP image, but since it's recorded as a smaller video, the resolution wouldn't be as good.

What it sounds like you're looking for is two full-frame videos that you can alter in post. This is what we do for racing series when we provide an in-car service, and requires a separate system for each view in order to get the highest quality video. Then you would create the PIP in post.

Thanks.

Thanks Randall,

I guess thats another reason to wait for the the Diva to come out ( i'm assuming it records up to 4 separate video files)..

DIVA will also record to a single file. We could definitely build such a system, my guess is it would be fairly specific to the TV production community.

I would be interested in discussing the market for such a product with you. Feel free to hit me up offline at randall (at) chasecam.com.

Thanks.
