Hello,

I instaled Dashware demo 1.1.2 (says file but is program is 1.1.3500.2)
But whe opening a video the program says "Invalid media format specified" and shuts down.

I am using a Dutch Win 7 x64 and the video is a PAL .MP4.
But other videos also crashes.

In Win Media Player the video runs good and also in Racechrono2AVI i can make with this video a good running video.

Can some one help me out.

I tried runnig the program as Win XP SP2 and SP3 but still the same problem.

Best Regards,

Jasper Tielen
(From Holland so that causes the bad English :D)

Hi Jasper,

We just release DashWare 1.1.3 last week and it has newer MainConcept codecs. Could you uninstall your current DashWare and install 1.1.3 and give it another shot?

Thanks,
Rolf

Downloaded 1.1.3 and installed.

Version is now 1.1.3500.3

And it opens my video now

Thanks

I'm having a very similar issue, however, i am new to dashware so it could be me...

DW v 1.1.3500.3 (trial)
PDR firmware v 01.02.12
WinXP SP3

When i add a video [CH0N0001.MPG] to the project, it throws pop-up error message: "Invalid Media Format Specified". I click "OK" and continue.

Add Data File popup window comes up and it has already located my video file (with embedded data) and defaults to "ChaseCam" data profile. I click "Add", enter the number of Cylinders and click "OK".

Then i get two more error popup windows back-to-back:
First:
"You have "ChaseCam Data" checked in your data profile, however, the ChaseCam data unique ID was not found" -> click "OK".
Second:
"Error using data profile 'ChaseCam' to read data logger file '<longpathclipped>\CH0N0001.csv.
Error locating required column(s):
You must map a data column to the "<Required> \ Data Running Time, Seconds" data type."

After this, the video file is listed, but no data file and i cannot do anything further on the project.

This is the only Dashware install i have (so no old lingering versions) and i have also gone through and reset the PDR100 to factory defaults and tried with same results.

Thoughts ?

Try downloading our sample file from the DashWare downloads page. If you don't have a DM10 Data Module, you may not be getting a valid data file on your PDR. I'm not sure on the first error, but if our sample file opens that will give us some answers.

Thanks.

That "Invalid media format" message leads me to believe the codecs are not setup right. Please try uninstalling then reinstalling DashWare.

This seems to happen if another video software application was installed after DashWare. Or.. Sometimes it seems the installer just doesn't work right the first time.

yes, i did this earlier today and the sample file did open (w/ same invalid media format error) i was able to compare the data profiles and the data file from the sample file does have some different fields... clearly that sample file has OBDII data and mine does not, since it is just PDR100 + GF data.

my data file is missing the "unique ID" record, is this normal ?
also, the error about not finding the "seconds" is not correct, i can see the "sec" column right in the data.

how can i ensure that my PDR is sending writing all of the correct data ? especially when the "Unique ID" is a header line that is just missing from my data entirely.

btw; thank you for the response on my issue here

i will try this.

however, the latter issue with missing data fields is more concerning to me... thoughts ?

{edit} i just uninstalled DW and reinstalled. went to pull up the sample file and it, again, threw the 'Invalid Media Format' error popup.

The 'missing data fields' is an error driven by the fact that you don't have a DM10 hooked up to your PDR. We realize there is still value in the recorded g-forces though and will correct this in the next release of DashWare (probably 2 weeks).

Still sounds like you have a codec battle going on on your computer. We'll contact you offline to resolve.

Thanks.

Okay, cool... i plan to get the DM10 +OBDII in the near future, but was trying to validate that my current setup was working and that DW was the right product for me, would really like to try it out before investing. thanks for all the quick responses guys !
