Hello .. I have been using DashWare for about a year and really enjoy it.

Is it possible to export a video with only the gauges and alpha channel? I would like to bring that into Final Curt Pro and do the overlay onto the video myself. Thanks ..

You cannot currently do that. Interesting idea. What are you trying to do in FC? Couldn't you just export the parts you want with the overlays?

I'd love to see that feature too. For my application I often want to fade out the gauges at times to give a little more visibility on the screen or I change between layouts and gauge types within the same movie depending on the scene. Having just the gauges rendered with a transparent background would also let me use a whole host of effects on the gauges when I transition.

Many thanks.

Interesting. OK, we'll throw this on the list and look into it.

Same as above 2, we need an alpha channel for Final Cut. I love dashware but as the video editor is a bit lacking compared to Final Cut. We can't fade the gauges in and out or even have an intro to the video without the gauges interfering.

Make a new gauge that is simply a r=0, g=0, b=255 rectangle and cover your video fully with it
Place your gauges on top of the blue rectangle

Export it and use the bbluescreen Feature in your video editor!

If your gauge has 255 Blue in it, you can use another colour as well...

Glad to have helped!

I meant to add that to the last DashWare release but I missed it...

Thanks for providing an easy workaround for the meantime!

Any estimated time for this please?

Thanks.
