View Full Version : Video Breaker Tripped?

Several times this past weekend at the race track, and while experimenting with my two new PDR100's at home, I have received the error message on the LCD screen: Video Breaker Tripped.
At that point I can only turn it off. Turning it back on sometimes seems to fix it, other times not. Switching the cameras between the units does not seem to always solve the problem.
I was surprised that this error message was not mentioned in any of the old forums; I am the first person to see this error? What should I do about it and how is it caused?
Thanks, Dave

This tends to happen if the camera connection is broken and then re-made. If you plug the camera in while the PRD is on it will trip the breaker due to the cameras voltage requirements.
Check to see that the connection is good and not at all loose and do not plug the camera in to the PDR while it is on. If you do you will have to cycle the power on the PDR. The camera is not hot swappable. It is if you have an SS1000.

OK, this is a possible explanation. It is possible I hot-swapped the cameras, although I don't remember this happening.
I'll look out for the error again now that I absolutely know I won't hot-swap.
I was surprised there weren't any postings at all about this error!
Thanks, dave

Could be because this is a new forum and the older posts my not have been ported over yet.
No need to be concerned about it. Just make sure your connections are solid. If you are connecting the camera to an extension cable then to the PDR, I recommend using some shrink tubing at that connection. 3/4" works great. This is what I use when installing systems out in the field.
