Noble - Rear
Should be a simple task really. Hire a transport company, pay them money and the car shows up. Or maybe fly to where the car is and drive it along the freeways in the most direct path possible, stoipping at the gas stations and food places that are starting to all look the same. On the other hand, perhaps we can enjoy the journey. Make it a ROADTRIP.
A little background on this trip- We actually first planned this trip when I bought my 2005 Lotus Elise. The short story is (see below for the longer story), I was offered a chance to get an early car direct from Lotus USA, but the catch was they wanted me to drive it home. I planned an epic roadtrip but some family health issues forced the trip to be shortened. We drove the car from Georgia up to Deals Gap in North Carolina and drove Tail
of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway in Tennessee, but then did a banzai run home. Last leg was Austin Texas to San Diego straight, about 19 and 1/2 hours in the Elise.
So I sold the Elise in early 2008 and was waiting for a car to be built for me in Cornwall England (Toniq R), but the wait was taking a bit long. And while I was waiting, I happened on a good deal on a Noble M400. The Noble is a British car, but it starts life in South Africa and then gets shipped to the USA where it gets finished. It is quite a special car. But the car was in Connecticut and I needed to get it home. As often happens, the best laid plans of mice and men oft go awry* and our roadtrip plans kept changing, almost to the last minute.
Click the menu above to see the planned trip
and for the daily updates (or not daily, depending on my time and Internet access).
*As noted by the Eddy Izzard, do mice really make plans? And if so, why would they go awry?
